Net-A-Porter Sale Essentials

Beautiful, yet functional pieces from the Net-A-Porter Sale

I always have to tread lightly when the annual Net-A-Porter Sale comes around. It’s a dangerous time for ones wallet but if you plan ahead you will come out ahead. Here are my tips for snapping up the Net-A-Porter Sale Essentials you actually need!

  1. Start Planning Early. I’m not sure about you but the Net-A-Porter sale will sneak up on you. You get an email or see a post on social and before you know it you’ve fallen down the rabbit hole. Don’t let this happen to you! Create a reminder on your calendar and set aside a little money each month in advance (which is a sound practice for your clothing budget as a general rule of thumb).
  2. Set a Budget. “I should go broke for fashion”, said No One. Especially during these times. The best way to keep from going overboard is to set a buying limit and stick to it. Whether it’s $50 or $500 make a game out of sticking to your budget by seeing what you can score for less than or equal to your budget. You’ll experience much more satisfaction, less regret and avoid impulse buys.
  3. Create a Wishlist. Using the Net-A-Porter app or a site such a Shoptagr start saving the pieces you love to a wishlist. Here is where you can (window) shop to your heart’s content. Don’t forget to add some Essential pieces to your wishlist. The basic white shirt, a ballet flat, etc. When the sale comes around there’s a good chance the pieces you truly want are on sale. What about all the other items on the wishlist? Since they’ve had months to marinate, you’ll realize that you’ve lost the love you thought you had.
  4. Shop Essentials Only. This tip is tailored for the new normal we now live in. Fashion is not a priority right now for most of us. And there are definitely things I’m not buying during this time. So if you do shop the sales I recommend sticking to Essentials from your wishlist. This year for me, it was a strappy sandal, a pair of Linen shorts, and a good straw hat. If you’re able to spend on fashion during this time prioritize investing in functional pieces.

Bermuda shorts (shorts in general!) were lacking from my closet. Linen short by LVIR – available on Net-A-Porter

Although Net-A-Porter is known more as a luxury online retailer, there are high quality Essentials to be had. Pieces that will last years and years to come.

The Net-A-Porter Sale, now with discounts of up to 70%, is now on. As the sale continues discounts go up.

I like to balance a cropped shirt with a high waisted pair of shorts. To keep the line going I opted for a minimal T-strap sandal – Top by Grana (review here) all other pieces Net-A-Porter. linked above.

Bermuda shorts can tend to weigh down a petite frame. I lightened the load by cuffing my sleeves and tucking in my button down. This also creates and mimics the angles in the shorts which are slightly A-frame. Necklace: gifted by Maison Miru.
