Happy Sunday, hopefully you are enjoying the respite from the rain.

January is definitely a time to stay indoors and tackle your pre-spring cleaning. For many of us (self included) that means a closet clearing.

I’m going through my closet and donating, giving away, and selling items in my wardrobe that I no longer need or otherwise didn’t work out. Additionally, closet clearing allows me to incorporate new items into my wardrobe with a net zero impact on space.

The post-holiday sales were a time for me to buy key pieces from my wishlist. Which brings me to a recent new key piece: the Valentino Tango pump.

Believe it or not I actually did not own a pair of black pumps which are a staple in the corporate workspace. There are so many black pumps on the market, however I wanted to invest in a pair I would wear a lifetime. I explored many high end brands such as Prada, Gucci, and Louboutin. These proved too difficult to acquire in a lower heel. I’ve heard too many stories of those beautiful, but uncomfortable, red bottom shoes.

I found perfection in the Tango pump by Valentino (of Rock Stud fame)

I’ve had my eye on the Valentino Tango pump for over a year. Fortunately in December they became available for pre-order at Nordstrom.com. (Note: these are an investment piece and I recommend that you have protective soles applied to insure against damage.)

So far these have not disappointed.

At the office, the Valentino Tango pump can be worn with skirts, long trousers or jeans and a black blazer for casual Friday.

The low heel is perfect for walking to and from the transit stations and meetings between the east bay and SF.

I have linked a beautiful budget friendly version of the Tango pump by WhoWhatWear available online at Target.

I purchased these before the Tango became available, however the toe box was t00 narrow for me (do I have web feet or something!) and I ended up returning both sizes that I tried. Target threw some love my way with a follow on Insta and by featuring my photo on their Awesome Shop site. You can also find my review on the Target website.

Do you have a great pair of black pumps, or are looking to add a pair to your wardrobe? Feel free to ask questions or leave a comment.

Xoxo,
