10 Key Pieces From…WhoWhatWear x Target Collaboration

Today’s post is the first in the series  “10 Key Pieces From…, ” where I share my top 10 wardrobe essentials from various designers.

The ladies from WhoWhatWear (Katherine Power and Hillary Kerr) have teamed up with Target to release a collection of wardrobe essentials along with a handful of trend-driven goodies.

The collection hit Target stores on January 31st and will refresh with new pieces the first week of each month.

One exasperated shopper wailed, “where are the trench coats!?!”. Like me, she hadn’t read the fine print about this being an ongoing collaboration.

First Impressions: Let me state for the record: my first impressions were made during a mad-dash between Target and a trip to Home Depot to conquer my Honey-Do list.

The fact that I was able to identify (and identify with) ten key essential must-haves in less than 10 minutes is testament to the success of this collection.

The only complaint, not a detractor in any way: the 2 pieces I truly wanted haven’t yet been released; the black Celine-like box fanny pack and the dot short.  My only wish for the upcoming release is for the dot short to be of the same EXACT material as the skirt. If so, then I will be all-in. Truth be told, I’ll be all-in regardless of the material; the shorts are THAT cute.

The one detail I would change, and which would’ve resulted in making it to the TKP list is to add pockets to the dot midi-skirt.

I understand this feature would have cut into the profit margin, but read any midi-skirt review and you will see that we want places to put our hands…

The no-brainer piece that you shouldn’t hesitate to grab is the linen 3/4 sleeve Breton T shirt. 100% linen at $17.99.   No. Brainer.

The fabric, while a little stiff, should soften with a few hand washes. Comes in solid colors for those of you who own way too many striped shirts (that would be me).

While the racks were far from being picked clean, the WWW x Target Collection contains many spot-on pieces that shouldn’t fall to the EBay or donation wayside anytime soon. However if people don’t catch on soon, there could be deep discounts for the patient and reserved ones out there.

Xoxo, TKP
