Tule Fog Candle Company

Tule Fog Soy Wax Candles Sea Lavender
Getting cozy with my favorite scents from the Tule Fog Candle Company. Cashmere joggers and sweater from Grana

I fell in love with Tule Fog Candle Company on one of the hottest, most humid days of the year.

It was mid July in Pleasanton California at the county fairgrounds that I found Tule Fog Candle Company. Actually they found me. I was dashing back and forth between the car and 4H Cake Booth for my kids, in 100 plus degree weather. When out of nowhere, one of the vendors stepped out from their display tent and offered a sweaty mom an ice-cold bottled water.

I was instantly hooked by the fresh smell of their soy wax candles which are individually hand-poured in the East Bay.

Based in the East Bay, Tule Fog Candle company gets its name from the infamous Northern California Tule Fog (tu:li:).

Tule Fog Candle Moss Pine

One of my favorite scents from their Core Collection isMoss + Pine. Inspired by the forests of Lake Tahoe, the scent of this candle is woodsy. Yet its scent is not overpowering. Which makes it perfect for the man in you life as well as you. Sea + Lavender is my personal favorite because it’s sweet and salty, but without being cloying or sickly-sweet if you know what I mean. This scent is reminiscent of Bodega Bay, which is one of my favorite coastal getaways.

Now I love my “blogger” candles, you know the ones from Diptyque? But they cost an arm and a leg, and the burn isn’t all that clean. I always notice the soot in the air after just 20 minutes of burning. And while these candles are very Parisian, they don’t remind me of home in the same way that Tule Fog Candles do.

Lastly the price point of Tule Fog Candles can’t be beat. (The price range is $10 for 8 oz to $32 for 16 oz). The jars come with screw top lids which makes them more practical for reuse and repurposing.

Which is why Tule Fog’s hand-poured soy wax candles are my go-to gift this holiday season.

This holiday season, let your nose (and wallet) be your guide.
