LOVES – Vintage Gucci Handbag

They say, “What goes around comes around”. In this case, it’s definitely my vintage Gucci handbag.

Gucci is a brand that arguably never goes out of style but  has not been on my radar as much as other luxury brands.

Gucci is definitely having a moment. Their DIY handbag project allows consumers to customize to their liking . Rumor has it this feature will be extended to the Princetown loafer that has been selling out in record numbers. (currently available for pre-order with a late fall delivery)

As you’ve seen from my blog and Instagram posts I invested in the “It” shoe of last season the fur lined Princetown.

However my first love (Gucci love that is) is a vintage handbag my husband bought for me at an estate sale. We estimate the bag to be a 90’s era with removable and adjustable straps. The bag can be worn both cross body & clutch. I remember we both initially balked at the $100 price tag some 10+ years ago, but the seller was firm.

What sold me was the red and blue ribbon, not the typical brown with green and red. I felt like something in a more subtle color fit my aesthetic.

Years passed after acquiring vintage Gucci handbag before I wore it. Truth be told, it took years for my style to actually catch up (a post for another day).

When Gucci burst back into popularity I took my beauty out of its dust bag.

Don’t you just love when long term investments return dividends?!
